The
Wound Tech program allows the user to enter information in several
areas including:
|
Patient Personal History |
The wound documentation portion allows the user to completely document an unlimited number of wounds per patient by several means. These are; photographic images imported via a scanner or digital camera, a verbal and numerical description of each wound which converts to a bar graph to show the area of the wound, and placement of a 'marker' on a diagram to show location of the wound.
Also in the wound section, the user can choose from various choices to document wound color, odor, drainage etc. should a choice not be listed, the user can 'click' other and type in their own description. In the hyperbaric section, the user can completely document treatment times, schedules, reason for treatment, technician, reactions to treatment etc. The whirlpool section is similar to the hyperbaric file in that it allows the user to completely document the treatment, temperatures, chemicals used, duration, and schedule etc.
The TCOM section is used to document the readings and automatically calculate the healing index for the user to see. Sites in which the readings are taken can be documented both in text and by placing a 'marker' on a body diagram. The nurses notes section is like that of an ordinary patient's chart. It allows the nurse to type in her notes into the patient’s chart and then sign off by entering a password she or he chooses. For security purposes, only those users with passwords may view materials. Should anyone wish to make a change to a patients chart, it will be stored under their password and user name. An individual patients chart may be downloaded to a zip disk and transferred to another user with the same software. A patient's chart can also be e-mailed to another user with the same software. This will allow doctors to review patients charts and treatments without having to send the original hard chart.
